When my contract was ending I contacted VM to source a new deal.I was paying £44 per month for a broadband/tv/landline package. The default figure was to be £66 /month.I rejected this and waited for the agent to come up with a more attractive affordable amount for the same package. After several more rejected figures,I finally settled on £42 per month but with reduced tv channels, not a problem. Now it gets interesting, the advertised price on VM webpage for the very same package is £36.99 but with M350 fibre b/band instead of M250 fibre as offered to me.Of course this price only applies to......YES you`ve guessed it NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY.
I have cancelled my account with effect fron 10th Feb.
VM will not entertain existing customers who wish to take advantage of new customer prices, this is contrary to OFCOM`s statement on their website where they state that agreement has been reached with major service providers where loyal customers are to be offered these deals.
However,Today my wife has made contact with VM and has successfully purchased the new customer deal.
What a way to run a company, really. The new deal requires equipment which is to be installed on 16th January which is before my cancellation takes effect.
I will update whatever the outcome is.
