  • Title Deed questions

Hi, hoping to get answers to the following questions regarding ownership listed on a residential Title Register. I downloaded the Title Register for a property and there are some anomalies I wanted to understand:

    1. There was a change of Proprietor with no record of sale on the same date. There as been no change in the occupiers of the property and the Proprietor listed does not reside at the address. Is it possible to list an agent as the Registered Owner and Proprietor on a residential property's Title Register and why would one do that?
    2. Is it possible to download/purchase the details of previous Registered Owners of a property?

    Many thanks

You can apply to the Land Registry for details of the registry entries as at a specified previous date.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
