We received a letter with this heading but it wasn't sent under recorded delivery just standard post but it doesn't look authentic. It's following a parking fine which we never paid as we legitimately paid for a ticket at the time. This was over a year ago. We did receive a previous letter from Dcb legal Ltd but thought it was fraudulent too. Surely if a legitimate judgement for claim was sent it should be recorded delivery otherwise how do they know the person has actually received it? We paid the correct amount of parking and this was over a year ago that is why when we received the original letter from dcb legal Ltd we ignored it and thought it was a scam. Apparently they are making a claim on behalf of Parkingeye Ltd but we have never received any correspondence from Parkingeye regarding this. So we are saying we paid the correct amount for parking and they are saying we did not. We no longer have the ticket from the machine as it was so long ago. How do you know if the letter is legitimate? It doesn't say to pay the court but Parkingeye.

Post on here a copy of the letter after covering up all details that could identify you, including court reference numbers.
It sounds as if this might be a genuine court document but we need to see it.

It really wasn't wise to ignore previous letters of claim and court papers just because you thought it might be a scam. There is no basis for your belief that those documents have to be sent recorded delivery/signed for. They don't.All opinions expressed are based on my personal experience. I am not a lawyer and do not hold any legal qualifications.

Court documents are sent by ordinary post. Some people refuse to sign for recorded delivery items they are not expecting.
Did you not think to do some research on the solicitors when you received their letter? A simple bit of research using your preferred internet search engine, perhaps?Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.
