  • Can i sue a bailiff?

My wife owed £3000 in council tax debt which she set up and paid off at £150 per month over a couple of years and never missed a payment. Completed 2 years ago and heard nothing since. Now being chased for £150 plus fees for the same debt. It is currently on hold as it is the same debt. After investigation have now proved that Marstons never paid the council the last payment of the original debt so the case is still open. Both the council and the bailiff are saying need to speak to the other so am now want to take legal action for theitlr mistake. This has caused me and the wife a lot of stress and any advice on anything would be greatly appreciated.
