Today one of my friend got caught while shoplifting from primark and total cost was 380 pound stuff, they didn't call the police but they said she need to pay a fine . How much that fine will be and if she doesn't pay that fine what wrong will happen? She is an International student. Please reply

She will receive a letter from a company called Retail loss Prevention (RLP)
They will be demanding money for imagined losses
This is NOT a fine.
In the UK courts impose fines.
This demand is made without any legal backing, and is at best an invoice for invented losses.
IMO it is nothing more than a demand made with threats by a company acting as a vigilante according to its own idea of justice. They act as judge jury and executioner and need to be stopped
Your friend needs to ignore them and their threats as they will do nothing other than issue a series of letters.
They have no authority
