  • Meaning of Precision Guesswork

Hopefully somebody can explain the meaning and any practical significance of the following clause, which appears in the articles of a charity:-

"Interpretation.-------.In this constututrion " Club Trustee" means-
A person who uses precision guesswork based on unreliable
information provided by those of questionable knowledge"

It's a joke T-shirt slogan that ought to have been replaced before the Constitution was actually issued.

If you do a search for the phrase you'll find it applied to a joke notebook cover for engineers [here], a mug for project managers [here], and to many other occupations.incluing doctors, auditors....

It has no legal meaning or validity and should not be there.

Maybe it was someone in the charity's little joke just to see if anyone ever reads the Constitution. Ask for a prize for being the first person to spot it

A Google search suggests it’s a humorous saying

the same applies to the word "constututrion".
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
