  • Discrimination (Equalities Act 2010) sexual orientation

Will try to make this consice as possible

Friend was a member of a members club for 25yrs, was a respected financial supporter (tens of thousands of pounds), during Covid epidemic membership was suspended. Feb 2023 membership was refused,
He believes it is because of his recent civil marriage. The club will not give any reason for the refusal. The club was originally unincorporated but 2004 became an Incorporated club (Ltd. To add insult to injury because of his support over the years, 2018 he was made an honorary member, however a new director who has recently taken over management is denying he has this position and will not provide the general meeting minutes that prove the fact. in fact he is stating that they no longer have them.

I am of the thought that a members club (incorporated) each member of the club was required to be issued at least one share, This is how the club was managed for the first 8 years, however when the originating person died, the directors decided to allocate all the shares amongst theirselves (5). Am I also correct that this would affect their premises licence to sell alcohol (club licence).

All data requests have been ignored with the note that records are no linger kept.

    any guidance appreciated
