    Just seeing wether or not I’ve got a case to pursue ,my picture was plastered all over social media and local paper for something I didn’t do and false information as well any help would be great

    I suggest you pay for some independent legal advice. Libel claims are not easy to prove and the law says that a statement is not defamatory unless the statement has caused serious harm. Your neighbour going to the media telling them that you are putting your rubbish in your neighbours bin when it is not true is unlikely achieve the serious harm threshold.

    Defamation claims must be start in the High Court generally unless both parties agree the County Court should hear the claim but any claim is going to be very expensive unless you have legal cover or deep pockets.

    Other types of claims you could consider are malicious falsehood or negligent misstatement but again, proper legal advice is best advised.

      A warning that even if you have legal Expenses Insurance, it is unlikely to cover actions around defamation,
      So if you have Legal Expenses cover check the wording carefully before proceeding
