Insolvency law is wonderful in theory.
In practice it does not often achieve anything. It's fitness for purpose is questionable.
As to disqualification, remember that the Insolvency Service is heavily under resourced - funds and staff. In my day they only got round to thinking about disqualification action shortly before the 2 year time limit. As discussed, that limit is now 3 years.
