Thank you for the response. I have had many conversations with the solicitor and gave my opinions but ultimately he knew I hadn't signed and he's the solicitor not me. He should have told me that I am unable to tell him opinions surely and advise me of that fact.
Also I am married but live in my wife's house. (Deeds in her name etc) Is the house safe from this and the wife, being that the debt wouldn't be my wive's but mine. She is a bit worried but I explained that any debt is mine and not hers. Am I correct?

What was the outcome of the conversation with the solicitor? How were things left?

Any liability that you may have can only be enforced (after court action) against your assets, and not those of Mrs Muzzy. This is unless you have put assets in her name for 'safekeeping'.

The conversation regarding this situation, is happening on Monday. The other conversations were during the COP case and connected to it.
I'm thinking that if the solicitor didn't advise me that he can't talk to me about the case, as I hadn't signed, then I would have thought that was an unreasonable and very unprofessional thing to not have explained and would be frowned upon, especially by a judge or maybe even the SRA.
If I'd have known this then I wouldn't have spoken to him at all.
So my wife owning the house of which we live in, is not at threat regarding any worse case scenario here. That is potentially a game changer as I have nothing for any solicitor to take me to court for anyway.
I know that I have been 100% honest with the solicitor.
Incidentally the acting solicitor apparently left the firm a fortnight ago. Under what situation or reason, I don't know. I assume a career move but timing seems highly coincidental. I don't think he was necessarily the problem though mistakes seemed to have been made.
I would like to get in touch with him but don't know how to find his details.
