Family members need to relocate. No previous arrears. After much searching, they find a property, all terms are agreed upon, Six months rent paid in advance, the amount paid is in the region of £16,000. Everything is agreed upon, plus the deposit is paid, and as they are about to move, giving notice of the property that they are residing in at present where all rent is paid and in fact losing the deposit there, plus the rent paid in advance, the Letting Agent then states, we have been advised you have Pets, we have to advise that pets are not allowed, this was not advised on signing the contract, I guess it was an oversight on there wish to gain a sale ?. Now the Letting agent has stated that they will not be returning the Deposit or the Rent that was paid in advance until they find another sale, Beagles is this correct please?

This sounds like an attempt to change terms after the tenancy agreement was signed. If that is correct it should be challenged as such.Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.
