  • Won the court case but debt not being paid back

Hi all, I am new year. I have a debt claim case against a debt recovery firm who collected my money but never paid me back. I claimed my money back through small claim court who awarded me the claim, however that firm did not pay the money to me even court order was issued. So I applied for warrant of control/enforcement and bailiff attended the office , but was told the defendant on the order is in liquidation and director resigned already, nothing can be taken there... it is the same people still running the business, but they stroke off the ltd company i dealt with and registered a new ltd company using the same trade name (old one is called something like ABC legal service ltd , new company is called ABC debt services, but they share the same trade name ABC debt recovery services). I am stuck now, paid all the court fees and won the case but these cowboys easily got away with it and still in business under a different shell), nothing can I do? thanks for your help in advance.

What can you do to get your money? Probably nothing.

Give all information you have about your dealings with this debt collector to the Insolvency Service office dealing with the liquidation, and also the information about the new company/name.

There are advantages to using solicitors!
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.
