  • Tesco ban no police involved. Please Help

Please could someone help. I am struggling financially and stupidly stole some food from Tesco. I’ve done it a few times over the past few months. The security guard followed me to the car today and said he had watched me in the past. The goods were all under £25 He took the goods off me and told me I am banned for life. He didn’t take any details but I am feeling so much guilt and shame it’s made me feel so ill. I’m worried he will get my details from my car registration and contact the police.

    Hi Karen2112

Firstly calm down. Check out your local food bank, email your MP, speak to local hubs which can help you at this time.

As for Tesco / security guard they got the food back, they did not take your details or hand you a letter banning you. As for your number plate, they could track you down. The police weren't called at the time, so nothing is 'likely' to happen. Just carry on with your day to day life, but speak to people who will help you with food and other stuff. The help is out there. If anything happens update the thread.

Thankyou for replying. It feel so ashamed, and so worried that the police will turn up at my house which I share with my family. I have always been an honest person, I have just hit rock bottom financially and mentally. I didn’t sleep last night. Thanks again for your reply.

That the Tesco security guard didn't take your details demonstrates that they're not interested in informing the police or taking it any further.
