Hi everyone, I just found this excellent site when I was searching for information about British Gas debt collection - I have recently received a letter demanding payment of a 2006 gas bill from a former residence of mine. The problem is, I moved out of that address in 2004!
I don't see how I can be liable, but I have been getting a lot of threatening letters recently from BG's lawyers, and they are calling my mobile on a daily basis. I've tried to make my case clear to them, but they are just repeating the demand over and over again.
Anyway, I'm sure I can find out more about this in the utilities forum, but I just thought I'd say hi all the same. I work in finance and have several years experience of regulatory/compliance roles, so maybe I'll even be able to offer some advice to other users as well as getting some insight into my own problem!
