  • N180 sending copy to defendant

I returned the N180 to the court and a copy to the defendants by special delivery. The court one arrived the defendants did not arrive.
Sent a copy to the defendants by mail still not arrived.
Found on Royal Mail Website problem with local Delivery Office in the defendants area.
Emailed a copy to the defendants - no acknowledgement.
Should I now hand deliver a copy?

    why not?
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

Could I not just use the evidence of posting to satisfy that I tried to get them a copy?

I am concerned about going to their home

......the service is deemed to be effected by properly addressing, pre-paying and posting a letter containing the document and, unless the contrary is proved, to have been effected at the time at which the letter would be delivered in the ordinary course of post.

The Royal Mail Horizon System is truly (think of any descriptor you like) XXXXXX..

Posted a letter yesterday, 1st class Recorded. Checked 1/2 hour later on Track and Trace, showed 'Delivered' on 21st February..

Then scrolled for more details, same Tracking Number issued a few days earlier, showed 'Issued and Delivered'.

Is Royal Mail (Horizon system) the problem or is the actual sub Post Office the problem.

Are the Royal Mail recycling Tracking Numbers to save on waste, if so that is going to cause serious issues.
