Good evening ,I'll try and make this brief .
I owe Equita £800 council tax debt ,I emailed and sent a letter offering £50 per month .
Email automatic reply said it could take 30 days to get a response ,I wasn't too worried that I hadn't heard back after 3 weeks (maybe I should have chased it up in hindsight).
Anyway a Bailiff turns up today and said I'd failed to make the payment,I obviously had no idea it had been accepted and when it was due.I apologised and told him I hadn't received letter ,he said tough speak to your postman.
He wouldn't agree to any offer and was really rude about it .I can't pay the full amount now over £1000.
I wasn't notified that the bailiffs were coming or sent a notice of enforcement,is this the correct procedure they've followed?.
