  • Company Uniforms - legality re displayed names

Can anyone advise on the legality of displayed names on company vehicles, staff uniforms, and buildings please.

My builder used a name on trucks, staff uniforms (sweat shirts, high vis tops etc, buildings, and payment requests, yet has submitted invoices with a totally different name.

The company name on clothing, trucks, paper work etc etc is not identified as being limited, yet subsequently after a year of work their invoice display a totally different name which is limited.

    Any advise much appreciated.

A company can have a limited company name registered at Companies House but it may also have a different name which is termed the trading name such as for signage, company provided clothing etc. For raising invoices this is done under the trading name

      Many thanks for your reply

I understand that a 'Trading As' name maybe used, but does this need to be made clear this is a 'trading as' name and not the registered company name, to the client. My point/concern is that this builder, used a name on his office, his cars, his uniforms, in voice mails etc that I understood to be the business I was working with, yet over a year later submitted invoices in a totally different company name that I had never heard of.
