  • newbie in need of help

    hi
i have been paying £1 per month for an old mbna credit card debt for quite a few years when out of the blue i received a letter from drydens telling me i had no formal payment agreement and i needed to pay it in full or fill in a financial questionare. I looked on some forums and was led to believe i should first ask for a cca which i did (30/7/2022) using one of the ready to use forms and enclosing a £1. I received a reply (9/8/2022) stating " we refer to the above matter and confirm receipt or your recent correspondence ,the content of which has been noted.
Your account has been placed on temporary hold while we contact our client with details of your enquiry.
We will inform you of the outcome as soon as a response is received.
and a letterhead with my pound and a note saying they are returning it as it is no longer required

I then received a letter (11/10/2022) we refer to our previous correspondence and note we have not received your completed financial statement
    but no cca
I then received a letter (4/11/2022) stating "this is a letter of claim sent to you in accordance with the pre action protocol for debt claims.
    but still no cca

can you advise what i should do next or where i should post this
    Thank you

My view is you should keep paying. Otherwise you would be breaking the contract which seems favourable. Ask why it is no longer needed.
