    Hi,
I was wondering if someone could help me, I was caught shop lifting yesterday, completely wrong I know but I needed to get some clothes as living a little rough at the moment, I was caught by security and taken into a room, he asked for ID I had a provisional license (which I just use for ID purposes) but the address on it is my old address and just haven’t updated it due to not learning how to drive. I told the security guard this is my old address but he kept telling me that it’s the address they can see so that’s the one they will write down, the thing that concerns me is this is my mums address and me and my mum do not speak nor have any contact, I don’t actually have a confirmed address currently. Please can someone help me?

Nothing much will come of it. They will no doubt write to you at that address, but it is very unlikely that they will say anything beyond making empty threats.

Your main concern may be that she will open and read the letters.

I am afraid that beyond calling her and asking her not to, they have to write, and have no apparent interest in changing the address they have for you.

There is nothing to be done and nothing to do.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

Thank you all, very much appreciated. I won’t be here much longer anyway so no need to stress!
