  • Smart Parking, Pay instalments

Iam struggling with finding an answer for this question..

I parked in a car park in Newquay for 40 minutes, left then returned again for 10 minutes as I went in circles and I recognised the car park and pulled in to reset my phone as maps were playing up.

The car park was nearly empty.

Genuinely didnt know i had to pay, other wise I would have.

I received 2 fines £60 each.. (£120) .. (if paid within 14 days, then rises to £100 each)

I appealed.. as you can imagine they both got turned down..

I wrote back and stated, I will pay £120, however due to current financial hardship, i cannot pay in one go, so i have offered £5 a month until the balance of £120 is paid.

The Response was shocking from smart parking, basically pay the fine in full or bailiffs will be knocking with more fines on top..

Iam struggling with the response as i have not refused to pay, I just can't afford it, that simple.

I am unsure what to do now?

    Can anyone help/advise ?

Unless it goes to court then there cannot be any bailiffs
