  • From Regina to Rex

I assume that the change in Monarch creates no difficulties in matter where the Crown is a party, save as to the date on which a matter isd named 'Rex v'. I assume the formal announcement having been Saturday, any proceedings in place this weekend, wake up as Rex v on Monday.

    Any comments?

It's already started, with cases heard on Friday.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

I have seen numerous references to this guidance having been given by the Crown Office (see eg Bar Council statement), but can find nothing directly from the horse's mouth.
