I won my case in small claims court last week and the judge has ordered that the case be adjourned for 3 months to enable the other party to contact his insurance company and for me to get two quotes for repair to my property. However, the other party is refusing to contact his insurance and has said there’s no point in my trying to get the money from him personally as he intends putting his assets (including classic American car collection) into his partner’s name. Is he allowed to do this? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

How much (ball park) do you think the eventual damages award may be?
Does the defendant own his house?
Putting assets in someone else's name simply to avoid paying a creditor would be a breach of s423 Insolvency Act 1986 (and possibly other laws), but getting it undone may be a drawn out and expensive process.Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.
Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
