  • Car Insurance

October last year. I am a dedicated right turn lane, the arrow light turns green, and the car in front hesitates to move off, we move off, get across the road, I am keeping a short distance as something did not seem right, and sure enough, a clear road he brakes hard, I miss him by inches, "U" turn and he is off, I pondered why the van behind me did not hit us, worked out he was involved as he also did a "U" and gone, I guess he would have been the witness classic Bash for Cash, Phoned my I insurance and said if any further incidence I have the reg of the vehicle. Now I get my renewal, Insurance has gone up by £170, I am now told I was involved in an accident, but kindly told it "ITS A NON FAULT CLAIM" Comments please.

Take it up with your insurer, or change insurers. On what you have said you have not made a claim or even been involved in a situation that could give rise to a claim.

Insurance (this is a very general comment) is a 'strange beast', even though the fault might not be the drivers, it makes economical sense for the insurance company to settle in favour of the other party.

even when there has been no collision, no damage, and no claim?

My comment was a very general comment, totally unrelated to the OP's post. Insurance companies work on the basis of 'least resistance'.

Yes, I can't think of a single sector, which I could class as '100% honest', which is very sad indeed.
