  • Cca /cpr / sar ….

I’m trying to understand all this legal jargon. This forum was definitely more helpful than google, but I’m still not 100% sure if I get it right. So far I think I’ve got only good understanding of CCA:

CCA (£1 postal order). Send to Debt Collector; should contain true copy of agreement (or reconstruction), list of transactions etc. Send after Debt Collector claims it’s our debt. It’s kind of proof of debt.

CPR (free?). Send to Debt Collector (their lawyer?). Send after receiving Claim Form? Should contain all information/documents that Debt Collector is going to use against us in Court?

SAR (free?). Send to Original Creditor. Informations/documents will help to proof that documents sent under CCA contain correct information?

Have I got it right? Is there any other documents we should ask for?

CCA = Consumer Credit Act 1974. under this you may request copies of credit agreements.

CPR = Civil Procedure Rules. Rule 31 contains provisions entitling one party in court proceedings to request the other to provide documents mentioned in its statements of case.

SAR = Subject Access Request. This is the means by which under data protection law you may request the personal data another person or business holds on you.

Links and guidance are in the shortcuts section.

Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
