  • Query regarding Estate Agent Misconduct with personal information

I have a question regarding misconduct from a real estate agent that I rented a property through previously. They have since sent a form to a new client asking for their banking details and accommodation history but the form they sent was filled in with my details. I know this because the client contacted me to let me know this had happened and sent me the form. Can I receive compensation for this breech of my privacy?

You should refer the data breach to the Information Commissioner's Office - https://ico.org.uk/
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

My I ask if this is regarding a UK agent, as you mention 'real estate agent' rather than estate agent ?
