  • Hello. A bail question

So i have to report for bail tomorrow, now i had every intention of going, but since last weekend ive been battling with the bank, who has frozen my accounts after i paid cash for my home, seems it's not the done thing, i have all the paperwork for the money and such so its not a drama just needs some time to be worked out, but as a result, i can no longer afford the travel costs, it would be close to a 300-mile round trip. [I moved across the country after i was bailed]

I really don't know what to do now, I've tried calling the station only to be told well get back to you, and nothing since, so do i

Just ignore it and wait to be found/arrested, or surrender at my new local police station at the time of my bail, ontime just wrong station.

I'm stuck with limited options and I really don't know what to do, any advice would be much appreciated (All crime is serious but on the serious scale this is right down at the bottom, i sent a snotty email)

With all due respect you have left it very very late to sort this. Is it Police bail or court? Why didn't you have tickets purchased ages ago to get there knowing how important it was. The only thing I can think of if it is police bail is go today not tomorrow to your local station and try to explain the situation.

I would probably still go tomorrow at the required reporting time to your local station, ask them to call the one you should be reporting to and explain situation. At the very least, you will have a record (CCTV) and witnesses of you turning up at the right time albeit to a different station showing your intention to report for bail.
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you

I thought id pop back and provide an update.

Took a few more days to get to the bottom off, but having rocked up to a local nick to "surrender", the parts finally began to fall into place as i was told, nope you did miss bail but theres no warrant for you, and Suffolk police have asked us to send you home they will call.

Suffolk Police accepted i had made a mistake over dates no more, and eventually i got a call back from the officer in charge who was nice enough to offer a Police Caution (declined) and to arrange a court date for me to appear in the coming weeks.

The officer in charge wouldn't have been able to deal with me even had i shown up because she was on holiday (who books bail during there holiday ???)

So all in all criminal justice system showing some flex.

Dont recommend this approach to anyone, making a mess is not a good way to fix things, its even more stressful on a bank holiday weekend when you cant get a hold of anyone

          Thanks all
