I defaulted with a Vanquis credit card and then my account was sold to Lowell. I have a credit file entry from Vanquis in my crédit file showing I defaulted Feb 2018 and one from Lowell for the same debt for Nov 2017. The No 17 is actually correct. Not only that but Lowell have added my credit limit of this closed account to my credit utilisation as though it is still live. I have spoken to Vanquis who confirms the entries are correct. Can they do this?

Hi JULEW
If the Feb 2018 entry is incorrect and you've complained to Vanquis and they have not removed it, lodge a complaint with the ICO. But you need to follow their complaints process. If it is an error and it's effected your credit rating, then you might be entitled to compensation. You need to understand exactly what's occurred.
