  • Consumer Claims Harrington Jones - PPI Claims company

    Just need some advice.
I received a mail drop from Consumer Claims/Harrington Jones back in 2014 regarding whether I wanted to apply for PPI search. I foolishly at the time filled the form in and thought nothing of it.
2015 received a letter from RBS Bank with a cheque for £2500 for PPI and subsequently deposited the amount into my account.
2019 received a telephone call from Consumer Claims asking if I had received any money back from PPI claims, I was unsure as to whether the phone call was a scam at the time, so made my excuses and put the phone down. Received several further calls again unsure as to their authenticity so ignored them.
Up until a few days ago I had not received any written correspondence from Consumer Claims/Harrington Jones.
Two days ago I received a NOTICE OF RECOVERY ACTION for an outstanding Invoice for £10,000 ! and unless this was settled within the next few days this would be passed to a CCJ Debit Enforcement Company.
Any help advise would be appreciated

      Hiya

Can you post the letter up, redacting any personal info? Also it would be handy to see the letter you got from RBS informing you of the refund if you have it. Just hit the paperclip icon to upload them to a post.

It sounds like it could be statute barred if the original invoice is over 6 years old, which would be an absolute defence to any legal claim. Do you know exactly when you got the PPI refund in 2015?
