  • Drafting a WILL and Signatories

    Hello members of LegalBeagles,
I have recently joined the Forum and impressed with the vast amount of Day to Day financial an Will planning advise given.

I am in the process of self drafting my Will and would appreciate advise on the following please:

    1. Does the Will have to be signed in Blue or Black Ballpen, Ink or Gel?
    2. Do all pages need to be Initialled by the Testator and 2 Witnesses?
    3. Do the Witnesses need to read the Will, I have read on the Gazette briefings that Witnesses are not supposed to read all pages of the Will…
If that is the case then can I cover the contents of each page and only expose the bottom of the pages for their and my Initials?
    4. Also should a Will be completed before application for any LPA?

    Thankyou appreciate any guidance.

    1. Sign it in blood if you like

3, The witnesses are witness only to the signature of the testator, not to the content of the will.

If a beneficiary witnesses the will they cannot benefit from it.
