Thank you, I wasn’t aware of this and it’s really helpful. There are no criminal proceedings involved, which in a way is a shame, as these protagonists certainly wouldn’t be exempt from action for fabricating evidence or a police complaint.

By making false allegations to the police they risk being charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice .... so not something to be recommended

Thank you. They’ve done the same today - trying to justify my eviction by claiming the police were called out to an incident which never happened. I’ve just rung the police to ask howI can prove this - they’ve confirmed they have no log of the incident but say I would need to submit an FOI to receive this . I’m speaking to an officer tomorrow morning- whatdo you think Inshould tell them, please?

From experience I would guess no matter what you tell them, other than perhaps having a word with those concerned, they will ignore it.
If every person who wasted police time with false accusations was charged the courts would be overwhelmed.
You might have more success reporting them for harassment
