  • Buying sibling out of inherited house

Hi i wonder if anyone can help.My husband and his sister have inherited their mothers house in equal shares. They are both executors of the will and probate has been recieved. My husband and i are going to buy my sister in laws half of the property with the proceeds of our house sale. The house has been valued and we have agreed a price with her.My question is can we do this ourselves by changing the title with the land registry and filling in the relevant forms ,or is it more complicated and do we need a solicitor. Thanks in advance .

No reason not to do the updating of Land Registry records yourselves

You might consider drawing up a simple contract for the sale & purchase of the sister's share (just in case relationship deteriorates)
