  • Trying to Clear Credit Report

    Hi,

I am new here so apologies if this is the wrong place to post.

So today I checked my credit report and was astounded to see Hoist Finance, (a company I have no agreement with), have been marking late payments on my credit report for months on end.

As I tend to keep old paperwork, I managed to established who the original debt was with.

My last communication with this credit card company was a payment made October 2015, so I have actually just passed the time period for this debt to become statue barred.

I will send a template letter mentioning I am not accepting liability for the debt, however it is statue barred.

What I want to know is, can I dispute all the negatives they have created on my credit report? Months upon months they’ve put late payment markers on there, but I had no agreement with them! And apparently I have gone over my credit limit too, how, when I had none with them.

    That was issue 1.

Issue 2 is a default by Cabot. Never had any interaction with them. Original debt was for a credit card, last payment made to CC company was early 2015.

Why is this account showing as ‘last updated August 2019’, and defaulted? Is there any way to remove this off my CCR?

Third and final issue is debt to Lowell. Last updated August 2019, do not know what this is for, but it has also been defaulted.

I should point out, neither Cabot or Lowell have taken me to court or obtained CCJs for these, so can either of these be removed?

I hope someone can guide me. Thank you in advance.

    all depends on statute barred,

This depends on how much time has passed since the start date of the limitation period. That date is which of the following happened most recently:

You need more information on the Default's especially when exactly you were defaulted. The credit agencies are pretty good at explaining things.

        Thank you for the replies.

So with Hoist, who i will apply to be statue barred, can I get the history of late payments deleted, as I never had any agreement with them?

How can Cabot and Lowell default me if I was never obliged to pay them?
