How can you deal with neighbours and a community who put someone under 24hour surveillance because they wrongly believe they are vulnerable in some way? Police, social services, polite notices and letters to neighbours have not stopped this problem, which is having a detrimental affect on the person's health.

Sorry, I've got the hang of it now! Person involved has numerous people - including neighbours - constantly driving by and looking into their windows. Believe some are carers going to various properties. Has been followed on two occasions. Home is watched. Nuisance phone calls in the past. Local businesses keep "looking-in"; taxi drivers, delivery drivers, et al.

Apologies I have been offline for a few days. There must be more to this than we are being told. Who has coordinated this harassment? Clearly this behaviour would qualify as harassment if you could identify the people doing so on several occasions and provide evidence to the Police. However someone must be coordinating this and for a reason. Thinking someone is vulnerable does not lead to nuisance phone calls or delivery drivers looking in. Has there been a false rumour about this person (eg that he/she is a sex offender for example). Can you give us more detail please?

Thank you island girl for your reply and sorry for the delay in answering. I have been trying to get to the bottom of this for over three years, but your comments regarding a co-ordinator and a sex offender are enlightening and I think I am getting answers now. It would help if anyone knew about something called a "Vulnerable Person's form". The victim was advised to sign one of these at a Police station when they reported the nuisance phone calls. We think this was wrong, as they were on their own, feeling very anxious and struggling with bereavement. It seems as though the Police officer regarded them to have paranoia, which was not the case. They have asked the Police if this can be reversed in some way, but this request was ignored. It is a very long story, but any advice or opinions on this aspect of the tale may help. Many thanks.

This is still ongoing. Recently, the victim overheard two neighbours comment about the state of their mental health and has discovered that neighbours and others have been told they have a mental health condition and need to be kept watch on. This is untrue, but it is what has caused all the harassment and attention. The Police will not help, even though the victim knows someone connected to another police force who has told them that this is 'group stalking', bullying and psychological abuse. Surely this is slander. Can the victim get any justice in any way? It has caused them so much suffering, and it is still continuing.
