I recently plead guilty and was sentenced without seeing the statements against me. These were false statements which could have been proven with the cctv audio and the lone witness who was never spoken to. The charge was Affray and the false statements claimed threats to kill. I never knew this till after sentencing and hadn't spoke to solicitor about the case until 10 minutes before pleading guilty. I then find out they hadn't read all the file.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Its a long story

Soberstuff, without more details it is hard to advise but on face value of what you have written I would say this. You will have seen the court duty solicitor I assume. If you were not guilty of the crime presumably you told them that? If so, they would not advise you to plead guilty. You will have been told the charges so how would you not know what they were? How could you plead guilty when you did not know what you were accused of? If you told the duty you were guilty then he probably would not have had time to look at everything but took your word. There must be more to this I think! You can of course appeal to the Crown Court. Case will be heard by 2 mags and a judge. However what are your grounds? You said you did it and have now changed your mind? I am sorry to be blunt but that is where we are. Perhaps if you give us more info we can be of more help.
