  • Leasehold purchase, build of a house: suitably experienced solicitor required

    Hi Legal dudes.
I have an option to buy a leasehold plot of land of .74 acre.
The same family have owned the land for at least 125 years
The lease is a 500 year old lost lease.
Other properties in the village have, under the exact same lease conditions, within the past few years, acquired the freehold via the first Tier tribunal route. The most recent just 2 weeks ago.
No property exists on the plot.
I want to buy the lease, build a home, live in it for the required 2 years and then apply for freehold.
I am struggling to find a solicitor/conveyencer experienced enough to advise whether this route is sound.
I know detailed planning consent was granted in April 2016, not by me. Now lapsed .
If you can point me at anyone that can engage and help me overcome the legal fog i am ready to go ahead.

The questions i need clarification on are as follows

Does a house have to pre exist on a plot prior to my purchase of the lease

Under the housing reform act of 1967 do i qualify as a qualifying Tenant within the scenario outlined above.
