Not sure if this is the right place. Help and advice needed re Mortimer Clarke

      Today, 13:53:PM
Hi. I had a ccj in 2010 for credit card debt. A land registry search stated Interim charging order was placed on my property. I have had no correspondence regarding this since. (Admit to burying my head in sand and did nothing then or since). Have had letter out of the blue from Mortimer Clarke saying they are acting for client and want payment. They are not the solicitors that are mentioned on land registry entry. Does this mean debt has been sold on. Any advice as to what to do now please

Apologies I am unfamiliar with the way this works. Please advise if I need to do anything to rectify this. Thank you

Just keep to 1 thread so that answers don't get split across all 3

I have just done a tidy up and deleted the other threads, so everything will run on this one

Hi Mike just saw this message. I have had the same problem recently. Did you get a response on this thread. If you did, could you please share this with me? Thanks

Yep I have had similar issues. It seems that Cabot has transferred the debt or asked Mortimer to manage the debt. I have had no response from anyone on this thread so I am wondering if this thread is active. Glad to see you have responded so this means the thread works!

I was wondering if the debt had been passed on although I have had no correspondence for over 12 years. We are not in a good position now as my husband is 76 and fragile and I cannot work due to severe ill health which will not improve so we are reliant on benefits. Any advice as to what we should do would be very gratefully received.

Thank you for your reply. How do I contact Celestine on here. Sorry if that’s a silly question but still learning to navigate the site.
