I am attempting to do probate myself. My question is as I wish to claim £100000 of RNRB which form do I fill in. It appears as there is no IHT to pay I could use form 205 but there is nowhere on the form to claim this so am I committed to filling in form 400 which is a much longer form.

Having read the info on the link I’m still unsure which form to fill in it seems as though it should be IHT 400 but don’t want to fill in wrong form from the outset, as there will be no IHT to pay does anyone know for sure which it should be to claim £100000 of RNRB. Would be so grateful for any advice.

I have tried the web chat but couldn’t even access the site -too busy and the phone number which was all automated and referred me back to the web site. Think I will try filling inIHT205 and see what happens. Thankyou for your reply its nice to know that someone’s there.
