  • Defending a court claim against PRA group

Hi, I'm new to the forum and I'm hoping for any advice to help me defend myself. PRA group claim they bought my credit card account balance, and issued court proceedings against me in September 2019. I was unaware of them and have never entered into any agreement with them. I sent three separate formal requests for copies of; the Consumer Credit Agreement, the Default notice, Notice/Deed of Assignment. Each time they did not provide me with the information or respond to my request. On their court claim particulars they say they 'Notices of Assignment were sent to the Defendant in accordance with S136 Law of Property Act 1925'. In October 2020 I received a witness statement from PRA including a huge bundle of paperwork, much of it redacted. I was ill and asked for the hearing to be postponed. PRA applied for a default judgement, but the court rejected it and rescheduled the hearing. It will be soon, and I'll be defending the myself and I'm very anxious and unsure what to expect.....

Did you put in a defence?

Have you now submitted your witness statement

Did you send a formal CCA request along with the £1 fee to PRA when you were asking for the agreement?

      Hi,
I did put in a defence, I sent my witness statement to the court and PRA, and I sent a formal CCA request with a £1 postal order to PRA asking for the information back in 2019.
