    Hello,
I have had no contact with capquest since 2015 when they could not provide me with a CCA from 2010. (I was advised on this forum to ask for that). I have just moved house and re registered on the electoral roll, could this have flagged them? I have worked so hard at improving my credit score, I’m finally 999 with Experian! Now this again....... it makes me feel physically ill. I guess it’s what you get when you believe an ex.....I have now also received a letter with the same information. What do I do? My anxiety level is bad enough as it is. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

        Hello,
I have been reading some of your comments on other posts and was wondering what advice you would give me? My post was as follows:

        20th March 2021, 17:29:PM
Is this just a phishing email? I have had no contact with capquest since 2015 when they could not provide me with a CCA. I have just moved house and re registered on the electoral roll, could this have flagged them? I have worked so hard at improving my credit score, I’m finally 999 with Experian! Now this again....... it makes me feel physically ill. I guess it’s what you get when you believe an ex.....today 05/06/21, I received a letter to the same effect, offering a 50% discount.
From what I remember, it is from Next Directory for £650 originally. It was from around 2010 and my ex was meant to settle. What should my next steps be? Do I call? Find an email?
thank you for any advice you might be able to offer.

they are trying their hand, discounts ? well suspect no case, also in England/wales 6 years or 5 years Scotland a statute Barred a debt becomes, UNLESS it has been acknowledged within that time, have you acknowledged within that period??? do not answer it as that will start an acknowledgment!! a few have been received for next to statute barred or even statute barred alledged debts, , on experian or others is this alledged debt showing>?

Hey guys... First post, but I was searching a bit about a company called IND who bought and tried to collect a debt on behalf of welcome finance by taking out a CCJ on me, and found a post that was shockingly similar to what I went through with them! I won't go into loads of detail about my situation, as the end result was the case being thrown out of court, me not needing to pay a single penny and from what the barristers were talking about, sounded like the judge told them they weren't to pursue any more debt in his court!! (Company is still very much active though, so they obviously got round it somehow... Just avoid Southampton magistrate probably lol ) but my question is this.... Anyone that had dealings with them and felt like the charges etc they slapped on (£300ish debt, that when welcome went into liquidation and the store front closed down, unbeknownst to me! And I went and paid off remainder of £1500 loan, The guy obviously pocketed the £300 cash and threw the paperwork away!!! And 6 years later that £300 became £14000!!!!) Were a little unfair??! Well anyway, I still haven't gotten round to filling out form to get CCJ taken off my name (it's honestly taken me years to get over this, it destroyed my marriage and my whole life effectively, and the stress made me ill and depressed, but I'm getting my life back together now, and I'd really like to sue the mother f*****s if I'm honest! Anyone had any luck with anything like that?? With IND or otherwise? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

Please start your own thread - as no mistakes then do not use another persons = confusion could take place.

Hi, I will go into our storage container and go through my file, see what I can scrounge up. I suffer with anxiety and get into an absolute panic from things like this.
Just so you are aware, I score 999 on Experian, nothing like this shows up. I will add more as soon as I find file.
            Thank you

it sure is a minefield trying to navigate this site, especially for technophobes like myself, but everyone is incredibly understanding and helpful.
it takes a little time to read through posts, but usually find the answers.
for example, the issue i am having at the moment has been going on for an apparent debt in 2010. i was first contacted by capquest in may 2017, last heard from them aug 2017 after receiving 3 letters saying they were waiting to hear back from "next" (who the apparent debt is with).... then nothing until receiving 2 emails in march 2021 and a letter offering to settle the debt at a 50% discount. no CCA was attached and i won't be responding to it as have been advised to ignore for now by these group members.

I have my letters to hand. Next did not have any information on their side with my details and said that if something comes to light they would contact me, well ive heard nothing from them since 2017. Capquest, who bought apparent debt could not provide me with the CCA back in 2017 and said they would be in touch if and when they got the info from Next. Did not hear from them either since 2017, until now when i received the 2 emails and the 1 letter offering a discounted settlement...... im sure they are just trying their luck, just don't like receiving letters like this at all. Makes me sick with worry - awful, especially when I have worked so hard at sorting out my life in the last 12years and finally score 999 excellent on Experian....

capquest mostly collectors, but can if they think worthwhile take court action. usually discounts offered you say why when if so sure they do not issue court action??

remember no CCA no court action!
