  • Safeguarding after a murder

Hi our son was murdered, it is a high court case and I had asked the housing association to provide security fencing around our very open plan patio located directly next to a public footpath for safeguarding purposes. The response was beyond me, We don't feel safe and don't want to have to move. I have looked over their safeguarding policy and seems they are not adhering to what would be their own policies. Can anyone give us any advice?

I am very sorry to hear about your son. I think you need to get your MP and councillors involved. This may sound cynical but there are local elections next week so they might want to be seen to act. Intervention from a MP or councillor might make them move more quickly.

Thank you for your condolences and advice. I have done this and have asked HA to reconsider.

This is my first time here. I think we are going to need a lot of advice going forward. We've never experienced or been through anything like this
