Hi I got caught on cctv taking a bottle of wine in the toilet I filled a water bottle and put it in my bag and left the wine in the toilet I got stopped and asked to look in my bag I said no. They retrieved the bottle of wine and said I was banned from the store and if I went back I would be arrested. No police were involved and I didn’t sign any thing. Will the store send the cctv to the police to look at as I’ve done this before?

There's not much we can do except reassure you that as the police were not involved at the time, they are most unlikely to be involved now.

Presumably the store have your name and address, so it is likely that you will receive a demand for a sum of money.
      This may be ignored

Previous offences would make it more serious. However I agree that on this occastion nothing will probably happen. I would suggest the OP gets some help because sentences obviously climb the more offences are committed. They do not want to do this again.

No they do not have my name and address, but I do use the opticians there so if someone working there saw me being banned they may give the security my details so they can send letters to me and inform the police about this

Do you think they will go through the cctv to see if they can see me doing this before and if they find anything can they send this to the police? They have never stopped me before the first time was when I got banned

No one is going to be trawling through CCTV in real time in the hopes they will pick up someone nicking a bottle of of wine.
              Too boring and too expensive!

Don't worry about the opticians giving out your name and address... data protection aspect.

Have to change your opticians now though

Thank you... you have put my mind at ease a little still very worried something’s going to happen to me from the store or police as I just keep going over being caught in my mind. I will never be so stupid again it is definitely not worth it.I keep thinking they will find out my name and address and start sending letters owing them money (wine was£5).I’m driving myself insane going over the same scenario. I’ve never been in trouble before that’s what’s so frightening. After how many days do you think I will be ok to relax a bit more and hopefully they will forget about me? Thanks again

                  Relax from now!

For a £5 bottle of wine no one is going to do anything

I agree with Des8 that nothing will happen. However you say you have not done anything before yet in the original post you wrote the opposite "Will the store send the cctv to the police to look at as I’ve done this before?" Was this an error (should you have said I have never done this before)? Or is it something you have done in the past?
