  • Cadent gas right of access

I have been given notice by Cadent that they will require access to one of my properties to replace some gas pipes while doing work in the area. The time when they might require access is within a 6 week period. Obviously this is for my benefit and happy to do so.
The problem is they say, in a large font, it must not be a neighbour or friend giving access when they come. Effectively putting me on 6 weeks standby . Have they a legal right to insist on this ?

I am totally happy with them coming in, daft not to be. Hoever, surely I should be able to make my own arrangements to give access ?
