  • New to Forum, Lowell Debt, Small Claims, Advice needed

    Hey All,

Firstly, what a great forum. I have read through a lot of various threads which have helped get to where I am now.

I would like some advice as to what could potentially be the next steps they take if any.

Lowell were chasing me for a debt from EDF which i believed to be fraudulent.

cut a long storey short I requested a SAR from both companies and provided a defence against my claim, Lowell failed to respond within the 28 days other than to mail me directly offering independent mediation for the debt, also stating that the court claim would also be updated and the court would ask if this was a valid step to take. I ignored the mediation letter from Lowell and awaiting a similar response from the courts to say this is what Lowell were offering, this never materialised and since submitting my defence the only update i have had is a ''Notification that the claim against you was discontinued was received on 12/03/2021''.

does this now mean they have stopped legal proceedings or is this what they call 'stay'?

how, if at all will they now try to recover this debt and will this go in my favour if they try again at a later date?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Kaos
