bank withholding benefit money

hi last week my child tax credit was not cleared in my account, i call tax credit helpline and they confirmed that my payment was paid into my account, i called metro bank and asked them why it has not gone in to my balance yet and they said there was a block on my account and to wait for a letter, they would not give me anymore information whatsoever, i could not speak to anyone that could help me i was just told to wait for a letter, today my child benefit and carers allowance has been paid in and the bank has withheld it from me again, i have two children i have no food my rent is going to be late and the bank will not release my money i need for my kids to live on, i am getting very depressed its stressful, i have no reason from the bank as to why this has happened, i need to feed my children please help me

suggest meantime get another mainstream account and get payments made into it by ringing whichever government department?


also ring citizens advice and see what they advise
