  • Letter from 'BW Legal' telling me 'TPS' issued a PCN in 2017- I didn't know until now

Hi and thanks for the welcome. I joined because I need some help with a Parking Charge Notice, supposedly issued in 2017 by Total Parking Solutions, that I recieved a letter about last week from BW Legal saying I owe £70 for overstaying + £54 debt recovery costs. I believe I was shopping in Currys that day and the car park is on a retail park with no Pay and Display machines. I have read most of the posts but mine seems to a little different in that the PCN wasn't attached to my car and I scrapped the car later that year, having moved, without changing the address with the DVLA. As such, the letter was the first I knew about it and I'm hoping the forum members might be able to advise me as how to proceed.
    Many thanks

They don't have to put a notice on the windscreen.

CPR 31.14 request to the solicitor for the PCN and a copy of the signs that are alleged to have reated the contract

Thank you for the advice OSTELL, I didn't know about CPR. However, as BW Legal are only a recovery firm and I am not subject to legal action as yet, I wondered if a SAR letter was the more appropriate response, unless of course you have reason to use CPR. I know that they have been quite pedantic with others who have contested PCN's. I just don't want to make a legal mistake in the first instance.

Thank you again Ostell, I've emailed them both as per your advice (post would take too long). I also checked on the TPS websit where you can search for the PCN and it didn't recognise it. So we'll wait and see.
