  • Newbie county court claim form worried

Hi. I have over the past few years made a proper pigs ear of my finances. Yesterday i received a county court claim pack from lowells,

I hold my hands up to owing the money, i took the debts on when i was earning 20 pounds a day.

Id like to arrange a payment plan with lowells I understand this is unlikely at this late stage. I didn't however receive the letter before claim. If I had it wouldn't have gotten this far. Any advice please

They would have been taken out with shop direct around 2012 2013, but then defaulted when i couldn't afford to pay. The total is almost 6000

So have you contacted them at all or admitted the debt?

Have you heard of statute barred? After 6 years they cannot recover the money. They can still ask but you don't have to pay

Others can help with the details and requirements

I tried a few times to set up a repayment plan, i was in talks with them As late as last year. But one thing and another it always got forgotten about. Does the fact i didnt receive a notice of claim letter before the court claim pack have any bearing on the case. Id rather pay.lowells than have to pay court costs on top which would slow down the clearing of the debt
