Hi everyone, can anyone help with this? I have received a letter from Cabot about a debt owed to Bluestone Credit Management (originally Santander I think). I know that Bluestone got a CCJ as I found it on my credit, I don't remember getting any paperwork about it but it's too late to do anything about that now, and the CCJ has fallen off my credit file now anyway ass it was over 6 years ago. I never had any further communication from Santander/Bluestone/whoever owns the debt now until last year when I got a letter from Past Due credit saying they were coming to my door (they never did). My question is this, I know CCJ's don't become statute barred however this is now coming up to 9 years old. I know they would have to go back to court to try and enforce this and prove why they hadn't enforced in the 6 year time frame. i know Cabot can't put a default on my credit rating as it has already been on. I also don't own anything for them to come after. Is it worth sending a statute barred letter to Cabot as they don't seem to (haven't mentioned in their letter) that the debt was a CCJ or do I just ignore the letter and hope they will get bored and go away? Thanks for any help given!
