  • CST Law PCN, Please Help!

    Hi There!

    i was hoping someone could help me. i have left this more or less to the last minute, which i do apologise for but much help would be appreciated.

    last august i received a fine from when partner had park my car at a local retail park on double yellow lines as he was just picking up a collection from boots. this resulted in a PCN from the private parking company managing the site. I have refused to pay as i was not the driver at the time and i have unfortunately separated from my partner. it has been a back and forth to get him to pay up but this has not happened, which i am left with. Please see the below to help and wanted to know what my next move should be. i have avoided making any contact with CST LAW or UK Parking Control. do i have any grounds to stand on to avoid paying this fine or should i just pay up?

    the letter states as followed;

    Dear XXX

    Creditor: UK Parking Control Ltd
    Vehicle Registration: XXX
    Total Amount Outstanding: £170

    UNPAID DEBT - REMINDER NOTICE

    We have been instructed by Debt Recovery Plus Limited ("DRP"), as the agent of UK Parking Control Ltd in relation to the above debt.

    The unpaid debt relates to one or more parking charges that you are liable for as the owner/hirer/driver of the vehicle.

    Our Client has the right to commence court proceeding against you to recover the debt for a period of 6 years from the date of the parking charge.

    The Supreme Court case of Beavis v Parking Eye [2015] confirm the lawfulness of the private parking charges under Cicil Law.

    However, our client would like to resolve this matter amicably without court action, as a claim would result in an increase in the amount sought from you in terms of any Statutory Costs and Court Fees.

    Our client would like to provide you with this oppertunity to make full payment of the sum of £170.00 thereby avoiding court action being taken and any increase in the amount claimed.

    Please contact Debt Recovery Plus Ltd in order to discuss a payment proposal or make payment online at www.debtrecoveryplus.co.uk/pay, or by calling their payment line on 0208 016 4342.

    If you are unable to make payment in full, it may be possible for DRP to agree a payment plan with you.

    If you do not pay by 10th February 2021, please keep Debt Recovery Plus Ltd updated as to your current address to ensure that any court documents are correctly directed to you. This is vital as a County Court Judgment (CCJ) can have a serious effect on a person's credit rating.
