I am executor of an estate that is ready to distribute assets from sale of property. I also hold the executor bank account. My solicitor dealing with the property sale has asked a beneficiary if he would like his share of the sale paid into his personal bank account. The beneficiary also happens to be an executor but does not share the executor bank account. Is this a right and proper thing for my solicitor to do?

So it is certainly better and wiser to keep the estate accounts separate from the executors' private accounts.
It isn't for the solicitor dealing with the sale of the house to distribute money to the beneficiary.
IMO he shouldn't be offering to do that, but should be paying the monies directly into the executor account
