  • Emptyed storage

Hi , my storage container has been emptied and im still paying .
just had a word of mouth contract, never signed anything, have been there for 5 years and always paid on time through standing order. 2 years ago they had a problem and gave me another account to pay onto . Have records of this with owner .
last week because i was working in the area "key worker" i visited my lock up . Everything gone!
because of covid iv not made any trips to the lock up ..
they said it was sold 4 months ago .. iv not been contacted. ( they lost my details and didnt know who was paying for the container)
even tho , the motor bikes and classic car in there was all registered to me . ?
how can they do this?? All they said was we changed the locks and put an add in the local paper !!

And ask the container owner to provide you with the receipts showing what was sold, for for much, when and to whom in case they get "lost" before the police make their enquiries.

And see if the newspaper advert actually exists or not.

If the bikes and cars were registered in your name and address with DVLA report the theft to DVLA.

Also the storage company could have traced you via the DVLA registration.

I would be totalling the amount of your loss and presenting an invoice to the storage company with the threat of impending court action.
